The Scappoose and St. Helens School Districts have partnered for Early School Success for incoming kindergarten students and their families by joining their efforts with the Children's Institute. Together, both districts will be hosting two monthly events to come alongside future 2022-23 kindergarten students and their families. Participation is not required to register and attend kindergarten; however, doing so will better prepare your future student for the start of school.
We are so excited to be able to provide our students with in-person instruction. However, with the requirements that COVID has placed on our buildings and personnel, we find ourselves in need of additional staff members at this time. Currently, our biggest need is for both classified and licensed substitutes.
On August 19, 2021, Governor Kate Brown set a new directive that legally requires all public and private K-12 school teachers, educators, substitutes, and volunteers to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 18, 2021, or six weeks after full FDA authorization, whichever is later with no option for weekly COVID testing in lieu of vaccination.
Volunteers can really make a big difference in the educational experience for our students. From helping out in the classroom, supervising a field trip, to reading with students, volunteers are welcome and appreciated at all of our schools. And whether you’re interested in a one-time, one-hour project or an ongoing opportunity, we can find something for you!
