A little about the St. Helens School District area...
asstpics

St. Helens is located 30 miles North of Portland, Oregon, on the Columbia River. Our school district encompasses the communities of St. Helens, Columbia City, Yankton, Deer Island and surrounding rural areas.  We serve nearly 3000 students at 8 school sites.

The region has a number of industries that provide a stable economic base for the community and the school district. Small and large acreage home sites are available for families who choose the rural life but have easy access to the Portland Metro area. Many of our parents commute to work in the Portland Metro area on a daily basis, preferring the lifestyle of a smaller semi-rural area.

St. Helens is located beside the Columbia River which provides ample recreational activities in fishing for salmon, sturgeon and steelhead while also being excellent for all types of water sport activities. The Oregon beaches are 1-1/2 hours to the West with skiing and other winter activities only 1-1/2 hours to the East on Mt. Hood. The breath-taking Columbia River Gorge and the Oregon High Desert are also within 'day trip' distance from St. Helens.

District athletics moved to the OSAA 5A level competition in 2006/2007. We have an active Drama department and Band program that have place 1st in State competition for several years.  We also continue to offer some of the most comprehensive college and career readiness opportunities (CTE) for students in the state.  Go Lions!

In St. Helens we invest in children from our 4 star rated Cubs Corner program through graduation! We are Strengthening Community through Exceptional Schools!
