Hi there!  My name is Emily and I am thrilled to join the kindergarten team at McBride!

I spent two years teaching kindergarten in rural Alaska and one year teaching pre-k in Southwest Portland.  I received my Elementary Education degree from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington.  I am currently working on my Master's in Education through Concordia University as a reading interventionist.  

I am blessed to have a big family that lives in Portland.  Spending time with them brings me a great amount of joy.  When I am not at school I enjoy running, hiking, traveling, and doing almost anything outside.

I am beyond thankful to join the amazing McBride staff and am eager to contribute to such a positive and supportive community.  I care deeply about making school a fun and engaging place for my learners and look forward to getting know each family along the way.  We are going to have a great year together!
