Ms. Jessica Otto

Hello, and welcome!

My name is Jessica and I am so excited to be teaching in St. Helens! I recently recieved my Master's in Teaching from the University of Portland and this is my first year in the district. I will be teaching Writer's Workshop and Art, as well as leading a Focus class--my hope is to provide enriching and engaging curriculm for all students.

  • Where can I find assignments and due dates?

    • Canvas! Modules are organized by week and you can find all of the assignments, resources, and lessons there. The date an assignment is due will be listed on the assigment in Canvas. Parents, you can also "observe" your students class in Canvas to stay informed on what is going on in my class.

    What is your grading policy?

    • In my courses, assignments are weighted to be 30% of your final grade and assessments are weighted to be 70%. If you stay on top of your assignments and work hard, you will be able to succeed on the assessments. :) I take off a penalty for late work, but all assignments will be accepted until the last week of the quarter.

    How should I reach you?

    • The easiest way for parents to reach me is through email, which is linked on this page. Students are welcome to email me also, but we will primarily communicate though Canvas.
