Ms. Crystal Briggs

I have been teaching at St. Helens Middle School since 2001 and grew up attending school in the St. Helens School District.

I believe that all students can succeed.  All I expect is that they try their best.

I serve as the advisor for the SHMS Reflections Literary Journal and the SlamBook Poety Club. This year, I will also be the 7th grade AVID Elective Teacher.

    • This year in humanities we will be covering the 13 English Colonies through the Civil War, while embedding language arts requirements within the content.  We will be taking periodic breaks in the social studies content to focus exclusively on language arts.

    • I love to hear from parents, so please feel free to contact me (email works best).

    Homework Policies

    1. Assignments will be posted daily on the board in the front of the classroom, on my teacher webpage and on Student/ParentVue.  It is the student’s responsibility to write the assignment down during class time.

    2. Assignments are expected to be turned in on time and complete.  Late work will be accepted until the late work cut off at the end of each quarter. See the announcements tab for the specific date. Incomplete work will not be accepted.

    3. Students may retake any quiz one time.  Assessments may be retaken/ redone once if the student has completed all course work for the unit and the study guide.  Retakes must be completed withing two weeks of the original assessment date.

    4. The student will be required to complete any homework, test, or quiz they have missed, due to absence.  In most cases, tests and quizzes must be made up the day the student returns.  It is the student’s responsibility to contact the teacher for missed assignments.

I am available before school and after school, when I'm not on duty and everyday at lunch, if a student needs help.  Students need to prearrange to meet with me, so I can give them a hall pass.
