Degrees and Certifications:
Principal Lisa Tyler
Lisa Tyler has been in the education field since 1989. Her first experience teaching was in the Beaverton School District teaching sixth and eighth grade. In 1996, she moved to the Centennial School District where she spent 17 years teaching, working with students and staff as a Behavioral and Instructional Coach. Lisa came to McBride Elementary in 2013 to fill the role of Assistant Principal. After commuting from Troutdale to St. Helens for three years, she has moved closer to St. Helens because she knew St. Helens was the community she wanted to commit to long-term. She moved into the Principal position in February of 2017.
Lisa is married with two grown children and three grown step-children. She’s passionate about her family, her faith, playing the piano, sunshine and coffee! Lisa is a proud graduate of Warner Pacific College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Development. After teaching several years she received her master’s degree in Education and Administration from Concordia University in 2005. Lisa Tyler reports that she feels very “at home” in the St. Helens community, and is excited to be the Principal of McBride Elementary.
This year McBride's theme is: Together We Make a Difference.
