E-Alerts communication allows the district and schools to communicate items of importance – such as news releases and upcoming events - to interested stakeholders via e-mail. To receive e-Alerts, visitors to the district website must become registered users.

To browse the district website you do not need to be a registered user. All content contained on the site is available to both registered users and non-registered visitors.  To register for the alerts, click on the “Register” tab in the top right corner of the homepage or above.

    • FlashAlert: Register  SHSD Page

The FlashAlert® system provides access to emergency messages, such as breaking news or weather closure information, and news releases from participating organizations. In addition, some organizations have opted to enable the public to subscribe to the messages they post, receiving the information as emails, cell phone text messages or via the free service Twitter.  There is no cost to the public for viewing FlashAlert information or subscribing to messages if offered.

Any data usage fees incurred by registered users is responsibility of the registered user.

    • RSS Feeds: rssfeed

Subscribing is also known as adding a RSS feed. RSS is a standardized format that lets you subscribe to a website using software applications such as Microsoft® Outlook®, Microsoft® Internet Explorer® and Mozilla® Firefox®. You can find these throughout the District and School Websites. Simply click on the RSS Feed logo on the page you want to follow and you will be taken to a page with information on how and where to subscribe to your Feeds.

    • Social Media: Facebook   Twitter

You can also follow SHSD on social media. This information will updated as time and work loads allow. Please note social is not the main communication method used for important and/or emergency announcements. Flash Alerts and School Connects are the main communication methods for important and/or emergency information.
