    at St. Helens Middle School!

Art Club is a fun after school activity at St. Helens Middle School.
This year we will be offering the projects listed below.  Students may sign up for as many of the workshops as they wish, but space is limited, and students must participate in the planned activity for that day.

October 12th - Plaster Masks:  Students will work with partners and create one-of-a-kind masks using plaster gauze, then customize them with a variety of materials.  This is a favorite project year after year...and a little messy!

January 11th - Print Makings: We will explore a variety of print making techniques, such as gelatin prints, block printing, leaf printing and more.  Come ready to experiment!

March 15th - Recycled Art: For this project, we will look at the world around us and brainstorm ways that we can turn every day materials into works of art. We will also look at the work of artists that are currently making recycled art.

May 10th - Tie-Dye; Did you know there are over 40 techniques tie-dye artists use to create those amazing patterns? Grab a t-shirt and learn how to do a few of them. This is another favorite (and messy) project of many students!

Each meeting will be on early release Wednesdays from 1:30 - 4:00 pm in Room 22.

Please check this site regularly for announcements and art-related events in the community.
