Canvas Information

To reset your Canvas password go to this link and Forgot Password:  https://sthelens.instructure.com/login/canvas#

You can also click the Parent/Guardian Canvas link above and click Forgot Password there.  

• If you already have a ParentVUE account, a Canvas parent account has been created for you. Use these instructions to request a Canvas password.
  • Your Canvas username is in this format: sh_"your ParentVUE username".  Example, ParentVUE username of JimSmith would be sh_JimSmith
     
• If you do not have a ParentVUE account, it is easy to sign up! Please contact your student's school for information.
  • After our ParentVUE account is created, a Canvas parent/guardian account will be automatically generated within 24 hours.

Parents or guardians do not need a Canvas account to monitor student progress or attendance, you can continue to use ParentVUE.

However, you can use your Canvas account to view more detailed assignment information, detailed student access activity, view feedback, and communicate with teachers.  We highly encourage parents to sign up for a Canvas Parent Account.

• View due dates in my child's Canvas Calendar
• Set up notifications to say informed on class activities
• Edit my parent/guardian profile in Canvas
• Navigate to my child's Canvas courses
• View Canvas in another language

The official gradebook in St. Helens School District can be found on ParentVUE that can be accessed through the ParentVUE Access Portal or via the ParentVUE mobile app.

For Parents/Guardians wanting to connect on the go, the Canvas Parent app is a streamlined mobile application that provides access to important class information (Calendar, Assignments, and Announcements).  For a Canvas experience similar to your student(s) we recommend using the full Canvas website. 

The Canvas Parent app is available for SHSD parents using iOS or Android devices.  You must search for our district using these words in the app:  St. Helens School District
