The lock out at St. Helens High School has been cancelled.
Today, Sunday, May 13th, the St. Helens School District was contacted by the St. Helens Police Department regarding a non-credible potential bomb threat found in a geocache notebook located in the Columbia City area. The St. Helens Middle School was named in the threat which referenced the afternoon of May 14th.
St. Helens High School is in a precautionary lock out due to police activity in the area.
I want to address a safety concern that has been brought to our attention. We are aware of and have been managing a situation with a social media post regarding a threat of harm to our school as have many schools across the state and country. We are saddened by the opportunistic nature of people taking advantage of the fear and anxiety generated by recent tragic events in Florida.
Today there was a threat of violence posted on social media directed at St. Helens High School.
Following the incident at St. Helens High School yesterday, during which two students made verbal threats while being escorted from campus, the District chose to request some additional support from our local law enforcement today.
Today (December 20, 2017) at 11:15 we had an incident in which a student threatened self-harm.
Yesterday we had a few students make poor choices and were removed from campus by police. As they were being escorted from campus by law enforcement they made several threats directed toward staff.
Today there was an unfortunate incident in which a student brought a BB gun to school in his back pack.

This morning at 9:45 CCEC went into lockdown.
We have had yet another bomb threat that Officer Howell and I have deemed as a copycat, bogus threat.
Today, Thursday, April 20th at 10:30 a.m. a student confessed to making a copycat threat at McBride Elementary School.
Today, Wednesday, April 26th, there were incidents of bomb threats at each of our elementary schools.
Due to inclement weather, St. Helens School District Buses 1 and 12 are on Snow Routes for Friday, February, 24th.
As a precautionary measure, St. Helens Middle School was placed in Lockout today January 26th at 10:10 am due to police activity in the area.
