This email is to inform you that from 11:55 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., St. Helens Middle School was placed on Hold due to a student altercation. We want to emphasize that students and staff were not in any danger during the Hold but rather needed to stay in their classrooms so that staff could manage the situation.

Earlier today, a parent leaving campus was involved in a fender bender in the school parking lot, which was witnessed by students at recess. The staff at Lewis & Clark maintained their professionalism, effectively managing the situation and prioritizing the safety of our students and staff.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. this afternoon, St. Helens Middle School placed a 911 call for a staff member who was having a medical emergency.

At approximately 10:00 am this morning, the fire alarm for the portable buildings went off, which prompted the immediate evacuation of the students and staff. The rest of the school was placed on a 'Hold' while local first responders assessed the situation.

At approximately 8:45 am this morning, St. Helens High School was placed on ‘Hold’ due to a student medical emergency, during which local paramedics attended to the student. When a school is placed on ‘Hold,’ it means that all students and staff are to stay where they are and keep the area clear. At approximately 9:18 am, the ‘Hold’ was lifted, and classes resumed their normal schedule.

At approximately 10:42 am this morning, Lewis & Clark Elementary was placed on ‘Hold’ due to a staff medical emergency, during which local paramedics attended to the staff member. When a school is placed on ‘Hold,’ it means that all students and staff are to stay where they are and keep the area clear. At approximately 11:30 am, the ‘Hold’ was lifted, and classes resumed their normal schedule.

The following email is an effort to inform families that the St. Helens Middle School Administrative team was made aware of a verbal threat that was then shared by other students through text message. Upon notification, the School Administrative Team contacted local law enforcement, who responded to the building before the start of the school day to start their investigation with the student in question. The student has remained with the School Administrative Team and local law enforcement since arriving at school, and law enforcement has determined that the student in question did not have a weapon.

The following email is an effort to inform parents that at approximately 1:05 pm, per local law enforcement request, McBride Elementary has been placed in a ‘secure’ as a preventative safety measure for law enforcement activity in the area. At approximately 1:15 pm, the ‘secure’ was lifted.

The following email is an effort to inform parents that at approximately 1:05 pm, per local law enforcement request, St. Helens High School has been placed in a ‘secure’ as a preventative safety measure for law enforcement activity in the area. At approximately 1:15 pm, the ‘secure’ was lifted. In addition to the 'secure,' there was also a medical emergency that arose during the same time, which was addressed, and the individual was attended to. When a school is placed in a ‘Secure,’ all students and staff are to stay inside the building with the exterior doors locked, and those students outside are directed to come inside the building. School goes on as usual, with students staying inside the building until the ‘Secure’ is lifted. All students and staff are safe and are going about their regular schedules.

The following email is an effort to inform parents that a student reported an alleged assault that took place last night away from campus outside of school hours. While describing the incident to school officials, a threat of harm was made, and school officials quickly followed district safety protocols. Local law enforcement was immediately notified, and at approximately 8:35 am, the school was placed in a “Secure.”

The following email is an effort to inform parents that a SHMS student chose to prank call 911 today and while on the call, the student made a threat of harm toward the school. Whenever a threat is made, the administrative team starts the threat assessment process, working with local law enforcement and the family to determine the viability of the threat and the next steps that need to be taken. At this time, local law enforcement and the SHMS Administrative team have determined this is not a viable threat but a prank made by the student.

At approximately 11:50 am this morning, St. Helens High School was placed on ‘Hold’ due to a student's medical emergency, during which local paramedics attended to the student. When a school is placed on ‘Hold,’ it means that all students and staff are to stay where they are and keep the area clear. At approximately 12:02 pm, the ‘Hold’ was lifted, and classes resumed their normal schedule.
Today, during lunch period, a student experienced a medical emergency that was witnessed by a large number of students. Thanks to the quick actions of both students and staff, the student was taken to a nearby office for their own safety and privacy as they awaited emergency personnel to arrive.
We want to thank all those involved for following protocols set in place for such events so that emergency personnel could get to the student quickly and safely. All those within the building are safe, and we would like to once again thank our students and staff for quickly following the protocols set in place for such events to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

This message is to inform parents that at approximately 9:20 am this morning, Plymouth High School was placed on ‘Hold’ due to a student's dysregulation, during which the student was attended to by school personnel and outside agencies. When a school or classroom is placed on ‘Hold,’ all students and staff are to stay where they are and keep the area clear.

The following email is an effort to inform parents that the School Team at Lewis & Clark Elementary was made aware of a threat that a student made out of anger toward another student and a staff member. Upon notification, the School Team contacted local law enforcement who responded to the building and were present at the end of the school day today, which was witnessed by students and families.

At approximately 1:24 pm this afternoon, district administrators were contacted by local law enforcement to place St. Helens High School in a ‘Secure’ for a police investigation that was taking place within a mile of the school building. When a school is placed in a ‘Secure’, all students and staff are to stay inside the building with the doors locked and those students outside are directed to come inside the building. School goes on as usual with students staying inside the building until the ‘Secure’ is lifted. At approximately 1:31 pm the ‘Secure’ was lifted and SHHS resumed its regular schedule. All students and staff are safe and are going about their regular schedules.

The following email is an effort to inform parents that the SHMS Administrative team has been made aware of a situation concerning a possible threat made by a SHMS student. The middle school administrative team is working with local law enforcement who are contacting the student and their family.

The following email is an effort to inform parents that the SHHS Administrative team has been made aware of a threat that a student made out of anger toward students attending the SHHS homecoming dance this evening. The high school administrative team has contacted local law enforcement who are in touch with the student and their family.

At approximately 8:45 am this morning, a St. Helens High School classroom was placed on ‘Hold’ due to a student's medical emergency, during which, the student was attended to by local paramedics. When a school or classroom is placed on ‘Hold’ it means that all students and staff are to stay where they are and keep the area clear. In this instance, the classroom was cleared and moved to a nearby classroom to allow local medical personnel to attend to the medical needs of the individual. At approximately 9:05 am the ‘Hold’ was lifted and classes resumed their normal schedule. Since this event was witnessed by other students, we have brought in counselors who are available to those students who were on the scene for extra support.
