The St. Helens School District is dedicated to maintaining a strong partnership with parents in our effort to provide the very best education for our students. The key to that partnership is open communication.
The following email is an effort to inform parents that a student reported an alleged assault that took place last night away from campus outside of school hours. While describing the incident to school officials, a threat of harm was made, and school officials quickly followed district safety protocols. Local law enforcement was immediately notified, and at approximately 8:35 am, the school was placed in a “Secure.”
When a school is placed in a ‘Secure,’ all students and staff are to stay inside the building with the exterior doors locked, and those students outside are directed to come inside the building. School goes on as usual, with students staying inside the building until the ‘Secure’ is lifted. At approximately 9:30 am, the ‘Secure’ was lifted, and Plymouth High School resumed its regular schedule. All students and staff are safe and are going about their regular schedules. For the safety of our students and staff, our district, along with local emergency response personnel, follow the I Love U Guys Safety Protocols. If you would like further information on how we use these protocols to respond to incidents when they arise, you may review this information on our webpage HERE. All those within the building are safe, and we would like to thank students and staff for calmly and quickly following the protocols set in place for such events to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
