The St. Helens School District is dedicated to maintaining a strong partnership with parents in our effort to provide the very best education for our students. The key to that partnership is open communication.
At approximately 1:24 pm this afternoon, district administrators were contacted by local law enforcement to place St. Helens High School in a ‘Secure’ for a police investigation that was taking place within a mile of the school building. When a school is placed in a ‘Secure’, all students and staff are to stay inside the building with the doors locked and those students outside are directed to come inside the building. School goes on as usual with students staying inside the building until the ‘Secure’ is lifted. At approximately 1:31 pm the ‘Secure’ was lifted and SHHS resumed its regular schedule. All students and staff are safe and are going about their regular schedules.
For the safety of our students and staff, our district, along with local emergency response personnel follow the I Love U Guys Safety Protocols. If you would like further information on how we use these protocols to respond to incidents when they arise, you may review this information on our webpage HERE. All those within the building are safe and we would like to thank students and staff for calmly and quickly following the protocols set in place for such events to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
